A lot of people wrote me to pick up posting articles. At great demand we come back with some advice especially in this special period: Christmas!
The holiday month is something magical that I have always lived following traditions. It marks a moment characterized by the warmth of the candles lit, the hugs and chats with friends, the long meals with the family and the simple but inevitable magic that these days infuse.

This year Christmas will be a bit different but let’s try to make it normal in our little one.

Let’s talk about Christmas decorations!

Deciding where to start can already be a difficult choice but let’s go by order and try to consider all aspects of the house.

Inevitable are the decoration at the front door. This is a bit like the preview of the house and must show off all the magic and the Christmas spirit. The most used decoration is traditionally the wreath, in various colors and also of different materials. There are shops that make run their imagination to bring that touch of warmth and passion into our homes. This is not, however, the only solution: you can hang some auspicious messages, put green festoons with simple lights or decorated with Christmas tinsels. Even a Christmas doormat can be considered an ornament and maybe combined with snowy wooden signs or small gnomes can bring our guests as immersed in a winter village.

Giving a Christmas touch to every room even with not only decorative but also useful objects can make the difference . An example are tea towels and potholders in the kitchen, small Christmas trees on the windows or falling stars to hang on the curtains and simulate a waterfall in the illuminated sky.
As for the living room, indulge yourself with cushions in winter and Christmas tones up to wooden or illuminated writings that can enrich your furniture. Think of a green runner for the furniture of the room or all those shelves that characterize your space.

Personalize your ornaments

Now it’s time for two of my favorite basic decorations:  Christmas tree and table set up.
Let’s start with the first one by saying that there are many options to make the perfect Christmas tree. Today we can indulge with a multitude of balls of various colors, perhaps even before imaginable type antique pink, black, petroleum green. Instead if you love tradition, red is the color of this holiday! Here are balls of various shapes, fabric and with different decorations. They  will appear on the branches of your trees to make the whole homogeneous and in harmony. If you prefer a tree with the colder shades: blue, white and silver are for suitable for you.
It’s important to know how to match different colors balls but I think the key aspect is to “feel” everything you put: YOURS. This is a time when emotions come first, so put on some Christmas songs and let yourself be carried away by those to decorate your home in your own way.
For example, I decided to make two trees: the official one in the living room, red and white with a thousand lights of every colors. And then what brings me back to my childhood: a little tree not with balls but small wooden characters. My vintage memory tree.
And finally the table! Remember to keep the color palette chosen and go with the fabrics and patterns. Put some details as placecards over the napkin or near the glasses. It would be a good idea to make a matchy between this and the centerpiece you have chosen. People around the table are often numerous and so it is important to leave enough space for food. So, to beautify this type of furniture take into consideration a centerpiece not very spacious with candles above the candle holder that develop in height,  tight runner of dried fruit and Christmas green with pomegranates or pine cones, table mats with various finishes and so much joy to share that moment…

Stunning surprises under Christmas tree

And no less important is that many future grooms choose precisely this period to pop the question. The unexpected gift, the warmth of the atmosphere, the soft lights and the joyful songs can be the perfect setting for a wedding proposal under the mistletoe or in front of the Christmas tree, surrounded by snow or under the lights of the city.
And what will you have under the tree this year?
